How to make Candied Pecans? – Healthy & Versatile 3 Minute Candied Pecans

This is going to be one of the shortest posts I have ever written because this recipe for candied pecans is the simplest and quickest recipe ever. I came up with it when another dish called for candied pecans and when I started looking at recipes they were all long complicated procedures that also used a lot of refined sugar.

Apart from the fact that I don’t use refined sugar in my cooking any more, I figured there must be a simpler way, and there is. These took me merely three minutes to make and only have two ingredients. They are so versatile; great in salads, on ice cream, chopped as a garnish on a multitude of desserts or just for munching on in case you have a sweets craving.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup pecans (can substitute with walnuts)
  • ¼ cup pure maple syrup (not the fake stuff)

Method

  1. Place pecans in a non stick (not scratched) fry pan over medium heat. I prefer enamel non stick pans.
  2. Add the maple syrup and stir continuously until the syrup evaporates and caramelizes onto the pecans. There should be no syrup left in the pan.
  3. Tip them onto a sheet of bake paper to cool.

That’s it! So simple, the results are great and so much better for you than using refined sugar.
